The Awesome Kid camps use a number of professional computer graphics software and tools in conjunction with the aesthetics of fine art and design in a playful, fun, project-based environment. This creates a perfect setting where technology and the art come together and students effectively utilize both their analytical and creative sensibility to tell a story. While the aesthetics of fine art and design polish their overall creative side, the training in software provides a modern way to implement their creative ideas.

 

As young people create and share projects, they learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

 

Participants create original imagery with tools such as digital cameras and graphics software. Experimental animation materials such as clay, sand, and other stop-motion techniques are also explored.

 

The media arts elements of space, time, light, motion, color and sound are integrated to generate unique digital stories that are edited and rendered in state of the art movie editing software  some of which include soundtracks mixed in audio editing software.
